Holding it together on the outside. Not coping inside.
If this sounds like you, then you’re in the right place.
Something is getting in the way of you living the life you want.
Tricky relationship patterns; the impact of past experiences; feeling on edge in certain situations; strong reactions to seemingly benign situations: all of these might be holding you back. You’ve done a lot to try and figure it out yourself - now feels like the right time to get some support.
I’m Jo, an integrative psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner. I’m here to help you move past whatever is holding you back. Have a look around. If it feels like I could help, let’s talk.
Why You Might Be Here
People often work with me when one or more of these feel true:
You’ve always been pretty self-sufficient, competent, able to manage things. Lately, though, you’ve been struggling.
You’ve been holding a lot, for a long time - holding it together - but you’re worried you might finally be about to fall apart.
You’re having strong emotional reactions to interactions with people or situations - flare-ups - that are making things worse at home or at work.
You’re struggling to set boundaries in important relationships, to say what you want and need.
You feel on edge a lot of the time, scanning for problems or difficulties, wanting to feel in control of things you know you can’t really control.
Seemingly benign things unexpectedly trigger strong reactions and send you spiralling: something on the TV, a throwaway comment from a friend, or a song on the radio.
You dread specific situations: an upcoming journey; an adult child leaving home; a meeting at work; or even just getting everyone out of the house in the morning. You don’t know why, but these moments feel like they take over.
You feel a little stuck on how to move forward.
Whatever challenge you are facing, you’re ready to overcome it.
About me
I’m Jo, an integrative therapist and EMDR practitioner, working online and in person from the UK. I’ve lived all over the world, but have landed in leafy Surrey, where I like to do jigsaws, hang out with my Labrador, hike, and talk - probably too much - about how effective EMDR is.
I was bitten by the therapy bug after experiencing the benefits of therapy myself. I love being a therapist: it’s amazing to see my clients feel more resolved, enjoy more rewarding relationships, and make the changes they need to feel better.
One of the most important factors in whether or not your therapy will be successful is whether your therapist is the right fit for you. I hope this website gives you a good sense of who I am.

I offer online therapy sessions on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday daytimes. If these timings work for you, I would love to hear from you.
